You might notice something different about my appearance. No, I didn't get a new haircut. I'm talking about my business appearance.
I am pleased to announce I am changing the name of my business from Legacy Preserves to Stories to Tell. Not only do I have a new business name, there’s also a new logo, a new website url (storiestotell.net), and a new email (meghan@storiestotell.net).
This is a time of transition and change. At the same time, it is a renewal of my mission and the values that have made this work so important to me.
I have noticed that some folks are intimidated by the idea of preserving their story. They think maybe their story isn't important enough to put into a book or recording. Too many people brush it off thinking, "Stories about little ol' me? I don't have anything worthwhile to say."
Telling your story isn't about putting on airs or writing a best-seller. It's about sharing something meaningful, our personal histories. We've all had ups and downs in life, heartaches and triumphs. Each of us has lived through interesting times and can share our personal experience of those times. We've learned a bit of wisdom along the way. These are the kinds of things families and future generations deeply appreciate.
Each of us has a story that carries meaning, that will resonate with others. This is what I was thinking about when I picked my new business name. I hope it inspires more people to recognize they have stories to tell.
